1. Everything we believe must be built on Scripture, not tradition, feeling, or opinion.

• Do you have any beliefs about God & His Kingdom that don't come from the Word of God? If so, where did it come from? What is it's foundation?
• Do you find it difficult to put scripture above traditions, feelings, and/or opinions? If so, which one(s) & why?
• What is the line between embracing and appreciating traditions, vs. being governed by them?

2. All Scripture is divinely inspired by God, and is profitable to us.

• Profitable implies a return. Meaning, God's Word will actually impact your life positively. Where has God's Word impacted your life positively?
• The chapter names four profits: doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. Have you experienced any of these? If, so explain.
• If Scripture is divinely inspired by God, how does that change how we approach it to read?

3. If there is a right way to divide the word, there has to be a wrong way.

• If sincere people can wrongly divide Scripture, then sincerity is a fault safeguard. What is our safeguard when reading, and applying scripture?
• Paul tells Timothy to be diligent. What does diligence with the Word look like in your life?
• Have you ever changed your mind about scripture after studying it more diligently?

4. Scripture interprets scripture.

• Have you ever been reading a passage of scripture, and as a result, gain more understanding of another passage?
• What do you usually do when you hit a verse you don't understand?
• If the Bible is able to interpret itself, should we seek study helps to gain further understanding (sermons, podcasts, commentaries, etc.)?

5. The Gospels are where we read what Jesus said, and Acts is where we read how His disciples fulfilled His commands (Hebrews 2:3).

• Walk through Hebrews 2:3. What is the significance of the two halves of that verse?
• What are some things in Acts that are a fulfillment of this scripture?
• What should be our conclusion when modern Christian practices do not match what Jesus said, or what His disciples did?

6. What you believe determines your experience.

• Have you personally ever lowered what you believe is possible about God, and your life with Him, based on a lack of personal experience? If so, where? If not, have you ever witnessed this in others?
• What have you quietly stopped expecting from God, because you haven't experienced it yet? What have you replace that expectation with?
• If our beliefs (or the lack thereof) set the limit of our experience with God, what would we need to do to lift the limiter?

7. We must love the truth.

• What does it mean to receive a love for the truth?
• What's the difference between knowing the truth and loving it?
• Jesus is the truth. Therefore, truth is more than information... truth a person. How does that reality change how you read John 8:32 next to John 14:6?
