1. Salvation is a new birth. You must be born of water and of the Spirit.

• Nicodemus came to Jesus at night, and Jesus went straight to the new birth. Why do you think Jesus started there instead of somewhere easier?
• Read John 3:3–7 carefully. Jesus says “cannot see” and then “cannot enter.” What is He ruling out, and what does that mean for someone who has never been born again?
• Nicodemus tried to make the new birth fit what he already understood. Where have you done the same thing with something Jesus said?

2. Repentance and the remission of sins are preached in His name, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

• In Luke 24:47, Jesus attaches repentance and remission of sins to His name. Why does the name matter, and not just the message?
• Acts 4:12 leaves no room for a second option. Is that comforting to you, or uncomfortable? Be honest about why.
• Repentance is a 180-degree turn, not an apology. What is one thing in your life you have been sorry about but have never actually turned from?

3. Baptism is the proper response to true belief.

• In Mark 16:16, Jesus says “he who does not believe will be condemned” — He does not repeat baptism in the negative half. What work is that omission doing?
• James 2:14–26 says faith without works is dead. If belief always shows up in action, what has your belief actually produced?
• Have you been baptized by immersion in water in the name of Jesus Christ? If not, what is holding you back — and is it a reason or an excuse?

4. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the promise of the Father, and it is for everyone.

• Read John 7:37–39. Jesus speaks of thirst, drinking, and rivers flowing out. What does that language tell you the Spirit is meant to feel like?
• Acts 2:39 says the promise is to you, to your children, and to all who are afar off. Who have you quietly assumed this promise was not for?
• Jesus said in Mark 16:17 that those who believe will speak with new tongues, and Acts 2 says the disciples did. Have you received this, and if not, what would it take for you to ask?

5. Pentecost is not merely a power event. It is the full expression of Jesus' presence in our midst.

• The chapter says that without Pentecost we have a Jesus we can read about, and with Pentecost we have a Jesus in our hearts. What is the difference in daily life?
• In John 14:18, Jesus promised not to leave them as orphans. How does Pentecost answer that longing rather than just supply power?
• The disciples waited, tarried, and hungered in an upper room. When did you last hunger for God like that — not for what He could do, but for Him?

6. What Jesus said, Peter confirmed: repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

• The crowd in Acts 2:37 was cut to the heart and asked what they should do. Peter did not tell them to pray a prayer. Why does his actual answer matter so much?
• Read Acts 2:38 slowly, one clause at a time. Which part of that verse have you obeyed, and which part have you not?
• The eleven stood with Peter and never objected. If that sermon is the confirmed apostolic answer, what does it require of you today?

7. The same experience the disciples of Jesus had on the Day of Pentecost is a promise for you.

• Some in Jerusalem mocked and said the disciples were full of new wine. Where have you let the opinions of scoffers set the ceiling of your experience with God?
• Have you ever felt conviction — that urgent pull in your soul — and turned up the noise of life to silence it? What happened next?
• The chapter says you can receive this gift anywhere, anytime, by faith. What is stopping you from lifting your hands and asking Him right now?
